Scholarship Information
New Students - freshman or transfer students
A limited number of scholarship awards are available for new students - entering freshman or transfer students.
How to Apply
Submit a portfolio that includes 10 examples of your original artwork. High quality slides, photographs Web portfolios or
a CD portfolio of your artwork are acceptable. You should also include: ACT scores, transcript(s) of your grades, a letter of recommendation
and an application letter that discusses your art interests and career plans. All Portfolios will be returned.
Deadline - New Student Applications/Portfolios must be received by March 15 for scholarship consideration.

Current NSU Art Students
Currently enrolled NSU art students in good standing are eligible to apply for a variety of scholarship awards administered
annually by the art department.
How to Apply
To qualify for academic scholarships, current art students must be in good academic standing and indicate in writing
that they wish to be considered for an award. Participation in the annual student art show is required of all scholarship applicants.
Deadline - Current Student applications must be received by April 1 for scholarship consideration.
In order to be considered for a scholarship award, current students are also required to participate in the Annual Spring Student Art Show.
Review Process
The NSU art faculty closely reviews all scholarship applications. Art scholarships are awarded based upon the merits
of the portfolio or student work, GPA, transcripts and letters of recommendation. All award recipients are required to enroll
as full-time art majors during the academic year specified in the scholarship. Upon request, the art faculty will provide a written
or personal critique of your artwork.
