Matt Hammer (Jr., F, Elkton, S.D.) scored 49 points in two wins over the weekend as the Wolves improve to 2-0 in the NSIC.  Hammer dropped 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds against Wayne State.  He backed that up with his third double double of the season as he scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Wolves 81-73 win over SW Minnesota State.  Hammer was just two assists away from his first career triple double versus the Mustangs.

Hammer is averaging 18.8 points per game, 6.8 rebounds a game 4.15 assists per game and 2.08 steals per game to lead the Wolves in those categories. Hammer was a 2003-04 NSIC All-Conference selection and a member of the 2004 NSIC All-Tournament Team. Hammer has scored 833 points (11.4 ppg) thus far in his career at Northern leaving him just 167 from 1,000 in his career.
