Adam Kampsen of Northern State and Brian Menard of Winona State have been selected as the NSIC Co-Players of the Week.
Kampsen (So., 3B, Paynesville, Minn.) started the first ten games of the 2006 season batting .412 with14 hits in 34 at bats. Kampsen’s slugging percentage was .765 with three home runs and 11 RBI. Kampsen’s top performance on the Wolves trip to Missouri was in the first game against #10 Emporia State. Kampsen was 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs scored and two homers.
Menard (Sr., 1B/3B, Eau Claire, Wis.) hit .500 and had a .800 slugging pct. in 30 at bats starting all ten games for the Warriors on the week. He had a pair of doubles, triples and a home run while driving in five and scoring 13 runs.
Northern State finished their spring trip with a 2-8 mark, with four losses coming to #10 Emporia State. The Wolves picked up wins over Upper Iowa and Peru State during their time in Missouri. The Wolves next game is slated for Wednesday, March 22 nd when they travel to Dakota Wesleyan. The Wolves home opener is set for Saturday, March 25 against NSIC rival Minnesota, Crookston.
