Game one had the Vikings scoring all their runs in the bottom of the second inning. They loaded the bases on three singles and scored a pair of runs on a single to right. An error by the Wolves catcher allowed the third run of the inning.
Adam Kampsen got the Wolves on the board early as he homered in the bottom of the first, his eighth of the season. Wes Fisbeck doubled to lead off the fourth inning, and scored on an error by the first basemen, as the Wolves were only able to produce two runs on four hits.
In game two the Wolves used a four run sixth inning to earn the series split. Joel Backous hit his fifth homer of the season with a man on in the sixth to put the Wolves up 2-1. After Kampsen and Fisbeck singles, Ben Cupp doubled to center scoring both runners and putting the Wolves up 4-1. The Vikings led off the seventh with a home run, but were only able to muster one more hit as Jarod Olson picked up his first save of the season.
The Wolves return to NSIC play this weekend when they have a four game series against the Golden Eagles of Minnesota, Crookston on Saturday and Sunday.
