Gerrish Named NSIC Pitcher of the Week
Picks up Two Wins Over the Week
St. Paul , Minn. – Northern State’s Paul Gerrish (Fr., Filer, Idaho) was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance over the past week. Gerrrish picked up two wins over the week for the Wolves as he pitched two complete games. Gerrish’s ERA for the week was 1.29 after allowing only two earned runs over 14.0 innings pitched. He also struck out 11 of the 48 batters he faced while walking only two.
For the week Gerrish held opponent’s batting average to .188. Gerrish picked up the win against cross-town rival Presentation College on Wednesday after giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out five and walking two. He backed that up four days later with a gem as the Wolves picked up their first NSIC win of the season over Bemidji State 3-1. Gerrish gave up one run on five hits while striking out six.
Gerrish also helped himself out at the plate as he went 9-for-18 (.500) with five RBI and five runs scored. Gerrish doubled twice on the week, walked once and had three sacrifice hits. His slugging percentage for the week was .778.
This marks the first time that Gerrish has been named NSIC Pitcher of the Week.
