Wolves Breeze Past MN-Crookston
CROOKSTON, Minn. - The Wolves breezed
past Minnesota-Crookston 9-5 and 22-8 on a typically windy day
in Crookston, MN. Deacon Burns went 5 for 6 in game two with three
home runs, four runs scored and five RBIs.
Golden
Eagles had their ace on the mound in game one, but the Wolves
managed nine runs on 13 hits to win game one 9-5. Wes Fisbeck
went 3 for 4 in the game with a homer, three RBIs and a run scored.
Joe Dinger (3-2) picked up the win
after relieving Justin Downes after 2 1/3 innings. Dinger gave
up two runs on four hits in his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Game two got a little crazy as the
two teams combined for 30 runs, 40 hits and 12 home runs. You
could say it was not a pitchers duel up north as the wind was
blowing straight out.
The Wolves had 22 runs on 15 hits,
eight of which were home runs. Deacon Burns (3), Wes Fisbeck (2),
Jeff Demarco, Ryan Beert, and Charlie Woida all had homers in
the game.
Deacon Burns was nearly unstoppable
as he went 5 for 6 with five RBIs, four runs scored and three
homers. On the day Burns was 7 for 10 with seven runs scored,
six RBIs, three homers and two doubles. Wes Fisbeck also had three
homers on the day.
Rhett Gunderson picked up the win
even though he allowed six runs on ten hits in the four innings
he worked. He did not walk a batter and struck out four of the
24 men he faced.
The Wolves are now 12-19 overall and
6-10 in the NSIC. They host Concordia St. Paul this weekend (April
24th and 25th).
Minnesota-Crookston falls to 3-29
overall and 1-17 in the NSIC.
