#7 Grand Valley State Defeats Northern State in Missouri
March 5 , 2007
JOPLIN, Mo.. - Northern State (1-2) falls to #7 Grand Valley State (5-0) 15-6 in their third game at the MSSU Larry Hickey Classic held in Joplin, Mo.
Grand Valley State jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning after a lead off triple by Skirka. The Wolves would battle back in the bottom of the fourth inning as they would score 5 runs to take the lead 5-4 going in to the top of the fifth inning. In the inning the Wolves got a big two run double by Matt Tales to help them take the lead.
The rest of the way was all Grand Valley State as they would score 11 runs to the Wolves 1 to get the win. The Wolves were led by Andrew Lunsetter as he went 3-for-5 with a run scored and one RBI. Mat Tales went 2-for-5 with two RBI's and Mitch Locke went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Wolves. Grand Valley State was led by Skirka who went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and had four RBI's. Maguire also when 4-for-5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's.
Brock Pashen (0-1) got the loss for the Wolves as went 5.0 innings, while giving up 7 hits and 7 runs with four of them being earned. Snyder (1-0) got the win for Grand Valley State.
The Wolves are scheduled to play the University of Findlay in a 9 inning game on March 6th in Joplin, Mo. Game is scheduled to start at 12:00 pm.
