JOPLIN, Mo.. - Northern State played Missouri Southern for the second straight day. After defeating Missouri Southern 7-3, the Wolves were unable to duplicate their first performace as they were defeated 12-3 by the Lions. With the loss the Wolves fell to 2-5 on the season, while the Lions improved to 4-5.
In the game the Lions were able to score the first four runs in the game scoring one in the second, two in the forth, and on in the fifth. The Wolves would fight back scoring the next three runs making it a 4-3 game going into the top of the seventh. From there it was all Lions as they would score five runs in the seventh and three in the eighth to make it a nine run lead.
The Wolves were led by Adam Kampsen and Aaron Kappes as they both went 2-for-4 on the day. Tyler Bauman got the loss for the Wolves as he went six innings giving up 8 hits and 8 runs, 5 of them being earned. With the loss Bauman falls to 0-1 on the year.
The Lions were led by Hernandez as he went 3-for-3 with three RBI's and a run scored. Wheeler also had a good day at the plate as he went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI. Roberson got the win as he went six innings giving up 7 hits, 3 runs, 2 of them being earned, while striking out 3.
The Wolves will be in action again on Thursday March, 8th in Joplin, Mo.
