MAYVILLE, N.D. - The Northern State Wolves fall to 8-30 on the season after losing a couple of non-conference games to the Mayville State Comets. The Wolves lost the first game 4-5 in eight innings and lost 1-5 in the second game of the double header.
In game one the Wolves were able to rally from a 3-1 down to take a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but like earlier games the Wolves were unable to hold the lead and lost 4-5 off of a Karl Holkesvig's hit in the eighth inning.
In the second game the Wolves could only get three hits in the game one apiece from Adam Kampsen, Justin Downes, and Matt Geissler. Geisslers hit was a double.
Wolves pitchers Tyler Bauman and Tyler Fries pitched pretty good only giving up 4 hits in the game but they did walk 5 batters in the game, which came back to hurt them.
The Wolves will be in action next when they host Dickinson State in Aberdeen, S.D. on April 20th at 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Northern State University (located in Aberdeen, SD) is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of t
