ABERDEEN, S.D.- Concordia St. Paul used some timely hitting to finish the four game sweep of Northern State. The Golden Bears had 19 hits in the first game on their way to a 11-7 game 1 victory. In game two the Wolves out hit the Golden Bears 8-to-7 but could not get the hits when they needed them as they fell 8-1 in the second game. Northern State falls to 10-36 overall and 6-20 in the NSIC, while Concordia St. Paul improves to 24-10 overall and 12-6 in the NSIC.

GAME 1
Northern State and Concordia St. Paul played to a 5-to-5 tie going into the top of the seventh inning, but Concordia would score four more runs then the Wolves in the seventh inning to take a 11-7 victory. The Wolves were down 5-1 when they exploded for 4 runs in the sixth inning. Adam Kampsen was thrown out at the plate to end the inning as he would have put the Wolves up 6-5. From there the Wolves were unable to control the bats of the Golden Bears.

Brock Pashen fell to 2-6 on the season as he went 6 1/3 innings giving up 18 hits, 10 earned runs, while striking out 4. Derek Mason got the win for Concordia as he went 4.0 innings only allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run, and striking out 4.

In the game the Wolves were led by Tom Keiser as he went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Mitch Locke as he went 2-for-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. The Golden Bears were led by Matt Borman as he went 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Greg Winegarden went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored.

GAME 2
The Wolves were able to out hit the Golden Bears 8-to-7 in the game but could not get them when they counted. The Golden Bears used a 3 run homerun from Brenden Furrow in the third inning to take a 6-0 lead. Offensively the Wolves could not get anything going and were held to one run.

Northern State was led by Aaron Kappes and Adam Kampsen as they both went 2-for-3 in the game. Kappes scored the only run for the Wolves off of a single by Justin Downes. Concordia St. Paul was led by Matt Borman as he went 1-for-2 while scoring 3 runs.

Tyler Oliver went the complete game giving up 7 hits, 8 earned runs, while striking out two. Oliver falls to 1-3 on the season. Jake Schmidt also went the complete game as he gave up 8 hits, 1 earned run, while striking out 7. Schmidt improves to 4-3 on the season.

Northern State will be in action again on May 1st when they take on Presentation College. Game times are set for 2:00 and 4:00 at Fossum Field.
