NSU lands three on all-conference team
Three Northern State runners earned all-conference honors at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Cross Country Meet Oct. 24. On the men's side, where the top seven runners make the all-conference team, senior Brook Fischer (Faulkton, S.D.) finished second. On the women's side, sophomore Holly Schumacher (Herreid, S.D.) also finished second. Senior Julie Huss (Faulkton, S.D.) finished fifth overall. The top 12 women's runners made the all-conference team. As a team, NSU's women finished in a tie for second with Moorhead State.

Brook Fischer (Faulkton, S.D.) became the first Northern State runner in 10 years to win the Roe Granger men's cross country meet Saturday. Fischer outdistanced the field with a 27-minute, 12 second time. As a team, the Northern men placed fourth overall. Jamestown College captured the men's team title.

On the women's side, sophomore Holly Schumacher (Herried, S.D.) finished fourth, followed closely by senior Julie Huss (Faulkton, S.D.), who finished fifth. As a team, the NSU women finished fourth. The University of Mary won the team title.

Faulkton, S.D., senior captains Julie Huss and Brook Fischer led Northern State's women's and men's teams at the North Central Pre-Regional Cross Country meets Saturday.

Huss took 20th overall in the women's division, running 23 minutes, 54 seconds. Fischer took 26th on the men's side at 33:39.

South Dakota runners Matt Hoyt (32:05) and Molly Wedel (22:46) won the men's and women's meets, respectively.
