Schwan Receives Player of the Week Honors

ABERDEEN, SD – Junior punter Eric Schwan was named NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in NSU's 18-6 win over Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday. With the help of a strong southern wind, Schwan forced the Mustangs into poor field positioning on multiple occasions.

Schwan punted seven times for a total of 246 yards (35.1 ypp) in the game. He put three punts inside the 20 yards line and had two kicks that went 50 or more yards. His longest punt went 59 yards and resulted in the Mustangs starting a drive from their one yard line.

Although the Wolves have had several players with standout performances in 2006, Schwan is the first NSU football player to be named Player of the Week this season. The Wolves are 2-2 overall with a 1-1 record in the NSIC.
