WOLVES FALL AT WINONA

Nov. 3, 2001

Northern State scored 35 points and racked up 405 yards against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference leader Winona State, but also had costly turnovers and no answer for Winona's potent offense as the Warriors rolled to a 70-35 victory Saturday in Winona.

The Wolves (4-6 overall, 4-4 NSIC) threw four interceptions and had two fumbles on the day. Five of those six turnovers were converted into WSU (9-1 overall, 8-0 NSIC) touchdowns.

Highlighting the day for Northern was senior running back Tefua Bloomfield (Kearns, Utah), who rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries.

Also taking advantage of 11 kick return opportunities was senior Cody Jamison (Murray, Utah), who set a new NCAA II record for kickoff return yards in a single game with 302.

Defensively, senior outside linebacker Booker T. Bell III (Diamond Bar, Calif.) racked up 10 tackles, including one for loss.
