ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State offensive lineman Casey Knutson (Sr., Shakopee, Minn.) was named to the Academic All-District VII Football Second Team. The announcement came on Thursday.

Knutson has earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 during his career at NSU with majors in Management Information Systems and Marketing.

Knutson recorded 121 pancakes in his first ten games (12.1 pg) this season, led the team with an 84 percent gradeout and allowed just one sack on the year. He is currently in his fourth season as a starter on the NSU offensive line and was named as All-NSIC honorable mention as a redshirt freshman (2000) and again as a junior (2002).

Casey is an NSU Honor Roll Student and is a member of Phi Eta Sigma. He received third team academic all-district honors a year ago.

Casey is one of 48 football athletes from accross the region to receive first or second team honors.Thirty-seven member institutions nominated 122 student-athletes for the all-district ballot for NCAA Divisions II and III.

The Academic All-America team is voted upon by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
