Northern Finishes 8th At NSIC Championship

YANKTON, SD – The Northern State women's golf team wrapped up the 2006-07 season at the NSIC Championship this weekend in Yankton, SD. The Wolves improved on their fall mark of 786 by posting a final weekend mark of 777 (381-396). The four team members who participated in the event posted scores that ranged just 11 strokes from each other, with Karissa Salwei being NSU's top finisher after completing the Championship in 389 swings.

Wolves Start Up Spring Season

SIOUX FALLS, SD – The Northern State women's golf team sent two athletes to the Augustana Invite last weekend, kicking off the 2007 spring season of action. Karissa Salwei tied for 46th place and Kate Richards tied for 48th place after 18 holes on Friday. The Invite was originally scheduled for two days of action, but Saturday's rounds were cancelled due to the weather and poor course conditions. Full Results
17 Fall Athletes Named All-Academic

ABERDEEN, SD – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate office has released this year's 2006 NSIC All-Academic Team. Northern State had 17 fall sport athletes named to the list. To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better. Furthermore, the student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing at the institution represented with one full year completed at that particular institution. Full Release

GRAND FORKS, ND - The fledgling Northern State women's golf team had their best showing of the year at the UND Invite this weekend. They posted a total score of 771 in two rounds played and placed fifth at the Invite. Full Story
NSU Takes Final Spot at SMSU

MARSHALL, Minn. - With a mix of cold, rainy, and windy weather, the Wolves' women's golf team took the course for the SMSU Invite September 23-24. The Wolves finished last out of 13 teams with a final score of 822. North Dakota took the Invite with 652 strokes on the weekend. Full Story
Wolves Results at Jamestown Invite
JAMESTOWN, ND - The Wolves posted a fourth place finish at the Jamestown Invite in two rounds played September 17-18. They finished Sunday's play with a score of 396, but slipped to a score of 431 on Monday for an Invite total of 827. Dickinson State was the top finisher wtih a score of 736 (365, 371).
Kylee Radloff was NSU's top finisher with a score of 192 (98, 94). Karissa Salwei shot 210 (98, 112), Amanda Glenz shot 209 (96, 113), Johnson shot 216 (104, 112), and Richards finished with a score of 264 (139, 125).
Another Second Place Finish
ABERDEEN, S.D. - Playing in back-to-back golf invites in Aberdeen against the same competitors, the Northern State men's and women's golf teams have shown consistency. Both teams finished in the same positions at the Presentation College Invite and the NSU Invite, held September 4th and 5th. Full Story
Women's Golf Places Second In First Event
ABERDEEN, S.D. - NSU's women's golf team opened the season with a second place finish in the Presentation College Invite on Monday, September 5. Jamestown took the event with a score of 373, NSU had 406 strokes, and Presentation had 549. Individually, Kaylee Radloff was NSU's top finisher with 92 swings. Full Story
Wolves Sign Three for 2006 Season
ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State head golf coach Amanda Bain has announced the signing of three student-athletes to the 2006-07 team.
