A 16-2 run to start the second half sparked South Dakota State University to a 93-84 win over Northern State Saturday night in Wachs Arena before 7,000 fans.
The 5th-ranked Jacks trailed 44-40 at the half but jumped on a surprisingly flat Northern team and crowd the first five minutes out of the locker room to build a 10-point cushion the 11th-ranked Wolves couldn't overcome.
SDSU Senior guard Brian Norberg (Watertown, S.D.) led all scorers with 29 points. He also had a game-high nine assists. Sophomore guard Jared Miller (Mitchell, S.D.) led the Wolves with 18 points. Senior forward Mark Rich (Aberdeen, S.D.) led NSU in rebounding with 10 boards.
SDSU ran its record to 8-1 while the Wolves dropped to 7-3. NSU hosts
Huron University Saturday, Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. before the holiday break.
