Northern State (4-7 overall, 1-2 NSIC) shot 60 percent from the field to down Moorhead State (3-8, 1-2) 68-54 Sunday night in Wachs Arena.

After both teams shook off the rust from not playing since the holiday break, the Wolves took control with a 34-21 halftime lead. NSU held that comfortable cushion throughout the second half, leading by as many as 24 points and never letting the Dragons pull any closer than 12.

Redshirt freshman Nick Schroeder (Osseo, Minn.) led a balanced Northern attack with 14 points. Senior point guard Scott Hanson (Tolna, N.D.) and sophomore post Brad Hansen (Tea) led the boards crew with six rebounds apiece. Hanson also led the Wolves with six assists to go with 10 points. Junior guard Jared Miller (Mitchell) rounded out NSU's double-digit scorers with 11 points.

NSU entertains Minnesota-Crookston Monday night.
