After a six-minute scoreless drought down the stretch cost Northern State a win at Minnesota-Duluth, the scene was hauntingly familiar a night later at Bemidji State in NSU's 77-70 loss at Bemidji State.
NSU held a 60-59 lead with five mintes, 23 seconds remaining, but managed to score just two points in the next five minutes to allow Bemidji State run up a 13-point lead in the final minute of the game. Other than that stretch, the game was evenly played on scoreboard, despite BSU earning 19 more trips to the foul line (NSU 13-of-18 from charity stripe, BSU 28-37).
Junior guard Jared Miller (Mitchell) led NSU in scoring with 21 points.
Sophomore post Brad Hansen (Tea) had another solid game in the paint for
NSU, coming off the bench to put up 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting and pull
and six rebounds. Mac Smith led BSU with 23 points and eight rebounds.
