Behind a balanced attack that saw five players score in double digits, St. Cloud State handed Northern State an 87-72 defeat in St. Cloud Tuesday.

SCSU (2-0) was led by Rado Rancik, who had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard Jared Miller (Mitchell, S.D.) led NSU (1-1) with 24 points. Sophomore post Andy Foster (Caledonia, Minn.) led the boards crew with eight.

The Wolves trailed by only one at the half but fell victim to a 17-6 SCSU run to begin the second half and didn't recover. NSU had the offensive bursts to come back, but couldn't stop the SCSU offense, which seemed to answer every mini-run with a big basket of its own.
