WOLVES TRAVEL TO MINNESOTA-DULUTH FOR FIRST ROUND OF NSIC PLAYOFFS

Northern State will entertain Minnesota-Duluth in the first round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference playoffs Tuesday, Feb. 27. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The last time the conference fifth-seeded Wolves visited fourth seed Minnesota-Duluth this season was Feb. 10, when fans were treated to a barnburner. UMD edged NSU 89-86 in overtime. UMD's last game was a 86-80 heartbreaking overtime loss to conference leader and nationally-ranked power in No. 9 Southwest State.

The top four teams in the final regular season conference standings host first-round NSIC playoff games, with the winners moving on to the conference final four in St. Paul, Minn. Mar. 2-3. The NSIC tourney winner will get an automatic bid into the NCAA II North Central Region Tournament. Here is the tournament seeding rundown:

No. 6 Bemidji St. (10-15, 7-11) at  No. 3 Wayne St. (14-14, 12-6), 7:30 p.m.
No. 7 MSU Moorhead (10-16, 5-13) at No. 2 Winona State (18-8, 15-3), 7:30 p.m.
No. 8 Minn.-Morris (3-23, 1-17) at No. 1 Southwest St. (23-5, 17-1), 7:30 p.m.
No. 5 Northern St. (14-12, 10-8) at No. 4 Minn.-Duluth (15-11, 12-6), 7:30 p.m.
