BLOW BY WILDCATS IN 69-55 NSIC BATTLE

Aberdeen,
S.D. - Northern State got back on the winning track on Friday
night in a convincing 69-55 win over Wayne State in NSIC action.
The
game remained tight until the 8:54 mark when Northern began a
14-2 run to earn a ten point advantage at 31-21 with 4:28 left
in the first.
The
Wolves built their lead to 16 at the half 44-28 and extended their
lead to 51-30 with 14:53 to play.
Wayne
would make some small runs but they would not be enough to overtake
the Wolves as Northern would win the game by a 69-55 count.
--Sundance
Wicks and Dustin Hjelmeland each posted 15 points for the Wolves.
Wicks also led the team with six boards on the night.
--Jarod
Obering recorded six assists on the night.
--Nick
Schroeder posted 11 points on the night including 3-of-5 from
the three-point arch.
--NSU
was an impressive 8-of-12 from behind the arch in the first half.
They were 10-of-23 for the night.
--WSC's
Brett Watson led all scorers with 17 points.
--NSU
outrebounded the Wildcats by a 36-29 count.
--NSU
improves to 5-6 on the season and 2-1 in the NSIC. The Wolves
host Southwest State Saturday at 7:30 in the Barnett Center.
