Crookston,
Minn. - The Northern State men's basketball team captured its
fourth straight game on Saturday with a 75-44 win over Minnesota-Crookston.
Northern
posted a 29-21 lead after a low scoring first half of play. But
the Wolves would jump out to a 9-2 run to begin the second and
take a 38-23 lead with 16:59 to play.
Northern
maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half and
finished the game on a 12-0 run to seal the 75-44 victory.
--Northern
used a very balanced attack in the win as eight Wolves scored
seven or more points in the game.
--Jarod
Obering and Dustin Hjelmeland each hit for 12 while Nick Schroeder
had ten for NSU.
--Matt
Hammer led NSU on the glass pulling down six rebounds.
--Northern
shot over 51 percent on the game as a team. UMC made just 36.4
percent of its shots.
--Bilal
Hill had a game high 20 points for UMC.
--NSU
(8-6, 5-1 NSIC) hosts Minnesota-Duluth on Jan. 17 in the Barnett
Center. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m.
