WOLVES
FALL TO BEMIDJI STATE IN HOME CONFERENCE TILT

Aberdeen,
S.D. - The Northern State men's basketball team suffered an 82-77
setback to Bemidji State in NSIC action on Saturday night in NSU's
Wachs Arena.
The
Wolves trailed for the majority of the first half before Nick
Schroeder pulled up from long range and hit a three just before
the halftime buzzer to tie the game at 37-all heading into the
locker room.
Northern
held a brief lead early in the second but Bemidji reclaimed the
advantage with 17:29 to play in the game and never allowed the
Wolves back in it.
Bemidji
extended the lead to as many as ten but NSU cut it to two twice
in the period but the Beavers would hold off any Wolf rally to
claim the 82-77 victory.
Sundance
Wicks pulled down a career high 16 rebounds for NSU on the night.
He completed the double-double with ten points as well.
The
Wolves were led by Dustin Hjelmeland who threw in 20 points on
6-of-10 from the floor. Steve Smiley posted a game high eight
assists on the evening.
BSU
saw five players in double-figures highlighted by a 21-point performance
by Adam Daley.
NSU
(9-7, 6-2 NSIC) will host Minnesota-Morris on Jan. 25.
