Smiley Grabs Spot In NSU History;

ABERDEEN, SD - In front of a good sized Northern State Basketball crowd, the Wolves defeated Minnesota, Crookston by a score of 85-60. The Wolves would be led by Sophomore post tandem of Adam Grant and Aaron Busack. Grant would score 15 points and seven rebounds on the night while Busack score 14 points and grabbed nine boards.

Busack and Grant would also be joined in double figures by Junior Jared Obering (13) and Freshman Luke Wicks (10). Senior Steve Smiley would dish out his ninth assist etching him into the 2nd all-time spot with 501 career assists. Smiley recieved a warm Aberdeen standing ovation upon moving up in the ranks.

Crookston was led by Bilal Hill. Hill was UMC's only double-digit scorer with 12 points. On the glass the Eagles were paced by Justin Henry who had five total rebounds.

With the win the Wolves improve their home record to 15-1 and extend their winning streak to eleven games. Overall, Northern is 17-5 with a record of 9-2 in NSIC action. The Wolves will tip-off against Bemidji State in a battle of the top two teams in the NSIC on Saturday night at 8:00 pm.
