Grant Scored Season/Game High 24

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State finished its four game home stand with a 104-71 drubbing of Jamestown College. The Wolves scored over 100 points and shot over 58% from the floor for the second consecutive game as they improve to 4-0 on the season. Wolves Head Coach Don Meyer is now three wins away from his 800 th career victory.

The Wolves jumped out early again as they held an eleven point lead seven minutes into the game. The Wolves steadily increased the lead throughout the first half as they held a 55-35 halftime advantage. The Wolves used 16 points off nine Jimmie turnovers and hit 53% (7-13) of their shots form downtown in the first half.

The Wolves traded off scoring duties as Adam Grant (Jr., F, Berthold, N.D.) scored 19 of his game high 24 points in the second half, while Matt Hammer (Jr., G/F, Elkton, S.D.) scored 15 of his 19 points in the first half. Aaron Busack (Jr., C, Redwood Falls, Minn.) added 15, while Dustin Hjelmeland (Sr., G/F, Staples, Minn.) dropped in 12 of his own.

The Wolves shot 58.7% (37-63) from the floor, and were lights-out from downtown as they hit 13 of 22 (59.1%) three pointers. The Wolves did have 21 turnovers compared to 18 by the Jimmies, but held the edge in rebounding 37 to 23.

The Wolves hit the road for the first time this season as they take on North Dakota State and Minnesota State Mankato this weekend at the Southwest Minnesota State / US Bankcorp Classic in Marshall, Minn. Game time on Friday and Saturday is set for 3:00 p.m.
