Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State outscored Midland Lutheran College (Neb.) 50 to 29 in the second half to go on to win 89-68 in a non-conference at Barnett Center. The Wolves had six players in double figures as they finish the 2004 part of their season at 8-3, 0-0 NSIC.
Midland hit their first eight shots of the game to open up a 18 to 7 lead early in the game. The Wolves battled back the entire first half and finally tied the game at 39 at the half. MLC hit 15 of 28 shots in the first half, but committed 14 turnovers to keep the Wolves in it.
The second half was all Northern State. The Wolves out-scored the Warriors 28-10 the first ten minutes of the second half to lead 67-49.
Dustin Hjelmeland (15), Adam Grant (12), Aaron Busack (12), Matt Hammer (11), and Jarod Obering (10) all scored in double figures for the Wolves. Out of the 11 Wolves that played all but one (DeWitt) scored at least one point in the game.
