Wolves Hold on to Sweep Concordia St. Paul
Northern State used a 5-0 late in the first half to gain a seven point halftime lead, which they held on to as they handed Concordia St. Paul a 71-68 loss at the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul. The Wolves improve to 17-5, 8-1 in the NSIC while the Golden Bears fall to 13-9, 3-6 in the NSIC.
The Wolves never trailed in the second half but the Golden Bears cut the Wolves lead to 1 with 27 seconds left in the game. The Wolves were able to hit five of six free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
The Wolves were led by Matt Hammer (Jr., G/F, Elkton, S.D.) who scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Aaron Busack (Jr, C, Redwood Falls, Min.) added 13 points and nine rebounds, while JarodObering (Sr., G, Beatrice, Neb.) and AdamGrant (Jr., F, Berthold, N.D.) had a dozen each.
