Northern State Falls to Vanderbilt University in Exhibition

Nashville, Tenn. - Northern State lost 87-70 to the SEC's Vanderbilt Commodores in the Wolves second exhibition game of the season. Craig Nelson and Aaron Busack scored 11 points each to lead the Wolves.

The Wolves outscored the Commodores in the second half 45-43 and got the game as close as ten with under three minutes to go, but a late 7-0 run at the end of the game sealed the deal for Vandey.

The Commodores were without the services of both seniors – Julian Terrell and Mario Moore. Terrell sat out the game while nursing a right foot injury. Moore served the first of a three-game suspension announced by head coach Kevin Stallings prior to tip-off. Moore will return to the court for the UNC-Greensboro game on Nov. 22.

Vanderbilt shot 58.9 percent from the field for the game, including a 18-of-30 (60 percent) effort in the first half. The Commodores outscored Northern State 38-16 in the paint.
