WINONA SWEEPS WOLVES WITH 4-0, 4-1 WINS

April 27, 2001

The Wolves just could not muster enough offense on the day as they dropped both games to the visiting Warriors of Winona State University on a sun-drenched day at Manor Park. In the first game, Elisa LaFrance (Spearfish, S.D.) had the offensive highlight with a triple, and Melissa Stone (Carson City, Nev.) pitched a complete game allowing only three earned runs.

In the second game, the Wolves had more offense, but still fell short by a score of 1-4. Senior Dana Jesnowski (Evansville, Minn.) had a double for the Wolves and was knocked in on a base hit by freshman Kacie Weatherly (Pipestone, Minn.). Amy Gurney (Yankton, S.D.) pitched all seven innings in the loss as she struck out five Warrior hitters.
