Northern splits with South Dakota State

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Freshman pitcher Samantha Guinn (Mountain Lake, Minn.) helped out her cause on the mound by belting a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday in Northern's 7-6 victory over South Dakota State during the nightcap of a non-conference doubleheader at Manor Park in Aberdeen.

SDSU (12-10) won the first game 12-3 in six innings.

With the win, the Wolves moved to 3-4 on the season. NSU will continue its homestand this weekend with a conference doubleheader against Wayne State Saturday. First pitch is set for noon. On Sunday, Northern hosts Dakota Wesleyan in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
