Wolves Swept by South Dakota State

ABERDEEN, S.D. - On a down right windy day the Wolves were
swept by South Dakota State, 8-3 and 8-5. The Wolves has 11 hits
in game two but left eight runs on base as they fall to 2-18 on
the season.
The Wolves gave up four runs in the top of the first
inning and were unable to rebound as they fell 8-3 in game one.
Christie
Schulte (2-6) took the loss as she gave up eight runs (five earned)
on eight hits. She struck out five and walked five of the 36 batters
she faced.
Lisa Koehler (pictured right) led the Wolves offense
as she had two
of their four hits in game one. One of those hits as a two run shot
over the left center field fence in the third inning to keep the
game in reach at 5-3.

In game two the Wolves and the Jackrabbits were knotted
at four runs a piece until the Jacks opened up the game in the fifth
and sixth inning, scoring four runs.
The Wolves rallied in the bottom of the sixth inning,
loading the bases, but were unable to get anything going after that.
Both teams left eight runners on base in game two.
Audrey Decker pitched game two giving up eight runs
on 13 hits. She walked and struck out three of the 37 batters she
faced.
The Wolves fall to 2-18 overall (1-5 NSIC) and will
host Wayne State (NE) on Friday, April 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the
Moccasin Creek Softball Complex in Aberdeen, SD.
SDSU improves to 16-22 on the season.
