Wolves Offense Picks Up But Not Enough Against

Crookston, Minn. - The Wolves offense picked up as they had eight
hits that scored five runs, but it wasnt enough as they fell to
Minnesota-Duluth 7-5 in their second game in the NSIC Crossover
in Crookston, MN. The Wolves scored more runs against UMD than in
the last seven games combined.
The Wolves took an early lead with a run in the top
of the first inning, only to have UMD counter with two runs in the
bottom of the first. The Wolves regained the lead in the top of
the third inning as they scored a pair of runs to take a 3-2 lead.
The Bulldogs countered again in the bottom of the thrid with four
runs to regain the lead at 6-3. The Wolves cut the lead to one in
the top of the fourth inning as with a pair of runs only to have
UMD add an insurance run on a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth
inning to end the scoring.
The Wolves fall to 3-27 overall and 2-14 in the NSIC.
They take on Minnesota-Crookston and Bemidji State
tomorrow in Crookston.
