Wolves Washed by Winona

Winona, Minn. - The Wolves dropped a pair of games to Winona as they fell 7-0 and 2-1. The Wolves only managed two hits in game one and in game two they improved to five hits, but left eight runners on in a one run game.

The Wolves were out-hit in game one 10-2 as the Warriors scattered their seven runs scoring in five different innings.

Lisa Koehler (0-10) pitched all six innings for the Wolves giving up seven runs on ten hits, striking out two and walking four of the 33 batters she faced.

Game 1 Stats

Christie Bronte had two of the Wolves five hits in game two, while Angie Olson had a hit and the teams lone RBI. The Wolves took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second innings, but the Warriors countered with a run of their own in the bottom of the second. The Warriors then took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after an error scored the winning run. The Wolves had four errors in game two which proved to be the difference in the game.

Christie Schulte (3-8) pitched all six innings for the Wolves giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits, struck out and walked three of the 29 batters she faced.

The Wolves are not 3-23 overall and 2-10 in the NSIC. Winona State improved to 28-6 overall and 6-2 in the NSIC.
