ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State split in a non-conference doubleheader versus MSU Moorhead by the scores of 6-5 and 3-11. Game one went eight innings, while game two went only five. The Wolves are now 4-10 on the season, while the Dragons are 6-10.

The Wolves rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in game one to knot the game at five. In the extra frame Emily Howlett roped a triple to start the inning and Lisa Koehler knocked her in for the game winning hit. Koehler helped herself get the win as she went eight innings giving up three earned runs on 15 hits. She struck out four and walked only one of the 43 batters she faced. Both teams had four errors in the game both amounting to two earned runs apiece.

Game two saw the Wolves start off with an early one run lead after one frame. The score remained that until the top of the seventh inning when the Dragons mounted a seven run rally. They added a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to end the game after five innings.

The Wolves host Mount Marty on April 5 th at Moccasin Creek softball complex at 3:00 p.m.
