Brookings, S.D. –Northern State was swept by South Dakota State 0-7 and 1-10. The Wolves managed only six hits on the day compared to 22 by the Jackrabbits. The Wolves are now 6-16 while the Jackrabbits improve to 21-18.
Laura Donley was the only Wolf to get on base in the first game as she singled to first base on a bunt. Lisa Koehler went all six innings for the Wolves giving up four earned runs on ten hits.
Game was close through the first three and a half innings as the Wolves only trailed 3-1. But the Jacks rallied for three in the fourth and four in the sixth to end the game early. Audrey Decker went 3 1/3 innings giving up five earned runs on ten hits. Koehler came in and gave up three earned runs on two hits. Tara Schumacher led the Wolves in hitting in the game as she was 2 for 3, while Natalie Kieff was the only Wolf to score in the game.
The Wolves return to NSIC action this Saturday, April 16 th when they travel to Crookston to take on the Golden Eagles in a double header at 1:00 p.m.
