Wolves Swept by the Blue Hawks

Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State Wolves (11-21, 2-4 NSIC) gave up four homeruns on the day as the Dickinson State Blue Hawks (22-2, 6-0 Dac-10) swept the Wolves in a double header 5-1 and 8-0.

In game one Cristie Schulte (Jr., P., Sioux Falls, S.D.) gave up three homeruns in 4 2/3 innings pitched. Schulte gave up six hits and five earned runs as she struck out four batters. With the loss Schulte fell to 2-7 on the year.

Offensively the Wolves Natalie Simar (Fr., OF., Turner, Ore.) went 2 for 2 with a run scored and Jenna Drey (Jr., OF, Burke, S.D.) went 2 for 3.

For the Blue Hawks Meghan Shaw pitched all seven innings giving up seven hits and struck out five improving her record to 10-1 on the year. Leah Glasgow went 3 for 4 with two RBI’s, two runs scored and a home run.

In game two the Wolves were unable to get anything going offensively against Alyssa Baker of Dickinson State as she got the shut out going all five innings and striking out five. She improved her record to 9-1 on the year.

The Wolves only two hits came from Jessica Kozelsky (Fr., IN., Westchester, Ill.) and Courtney Halsey (Fr., OF., Wheatland, Wyo.).

Christie Schulte got the loss in game two as she went two innings giving up two runs on three hits. Schulte is now 2-8 on the year.

Dickinson State was led by Tiffany Saatzer as she went 2 for 4 with one run scored and five RBI's. Kristen Fleury also went 2 for 4 with one run scored.

The Wolves will be in action on Wednesday April 12th when they take on MSU Moorhead in a couple of conference games. Game times are set for 3:00 and 5:00.
