Dragons Sweep the Wolves for the Third Time this Year
Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State Wolves (14-30, 3-13) lost a pair of games to the MSU Moorhead Dragons in Moorhead, Minn. This Dragons won the first game 10-0 and the second game 4-2. The Dragons have won all six games against the Wolves this season.
In the first game the Wolves got three hits compared to the Dragons eleven hits. The Wolves got one hit apiece from Zomarie Lozano (Jr., SS., Juncos, PR), Caitlin Hodges (Jr., OF., Hartford, S.D.), and Heather Olson (Fr., 3B., Rosemount, Minn.).
Lisa Koehler (Sr., P., Waconia, Minn.) pitched two innings giving up five hits and five runs while striking out two. Koehler fell to 8-12 with the loss.
The Dragons were led by Jessica White who went 3 for 3 with one run scored and two batted in. Kari Sagehorn went the whole five innings give up three hits while striking out eight in the game. Sage horn improved her recored to 8-5 with the win.
The second game was a pitchers dual until the Dragons scored three of their four runs in the fourht inning. The Wolves scored two in the sixth inning but that is the closest they would get as they would fall to the Dragons 2-4.
The Wolves were led by Jenna Drey (Jr., CF., Burke, S.D.) as she went 1 for 3 with two runs batted in. Christi Schulte (Jr., P., Sioux Falls, S.D.) went three innings only giving up one hit and one run. Schulte also struck out three Dragons on the day. With the lose Schulte fell to 3-13 on the year.
The Dragons were led by Kelly Fehl who went 2 for 3 with one run scored. Kari Sagehorn also pitched the second game going 5 1/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs while striking out nine.
The Wolves will be in Jamestown, N.D. on Friday April 28th to take on the Jimmies of Jamestown College in a doubleheader. The games are set for 3:00 and 5:00 pm.
