ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State fell to 6-36 overall and 4-14 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference today as they could not get anything going offensively against the University of Mary. The Marauders improved their overall record to 26-18 on the season and 9-7 in the NSIC with their 5-0 win in game one and 3-1 victory in game two.

GAME 1
Northern State could only manage three hits to U-Mary's ten in game one. The Marauders scored 4 runs in the second innings as they cruised to their 25th win on the year by a score of 5-0.

Northern's three hits came from Hillary Smith, Caitlin Hodges, and Samantha Francis as they went a combined 3-for-8. The Maruaders were led by Benavidez as she went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Ward went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI as well.

Christi Schulte went all seven innings for Northern State, giving up ten hits and five earned runs. With the loss, Schulte falls to 5-16 on the year. Rossow also went all seven innings for the Maruaders only giving up three hits, while striking out seven.

GAME 2
In game two things looked good for the Wolves as they took an early 1-0 lead in the ball game. They would hold that lead until the top of the fourth when the Maruaders would start clicking offensively. Mary would score three runs in the fourth and hold that lead for the 3-1 victory.

The Marauders out-hit the Wolves 8-5 in the game and only committed one error to the Wolves' two. Caitlin Hodges had the only RBI for the Wolves as she went 2-for-3 in game two. The Marauders were led by Lunn and Richardson in game two as they each went 2-for-3. Richardson batted in two runners and Lunn scored a run.

Moder picked up her 9th win on the year for Mary as she went all seven innings giving up five hits, one earned run, and stiking out four. Audrey Decker would get the loss for the Wolves as she went 3 1/3 innings, giving up seven hits and three earned runs. With the loss Decker falls to 0-8 on the year.

Northern State will travel to Jamestown, N.D. to take on the Jamestown Jimmies on April 27th. Game times are set for 3:00 and 5:00 pm.
