Wolves Surround the Eagles
Crookston, Minn.- The Northern State Wolves (11-3-2, 6-3-2 NSIC) got back on the right track as they defeated the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles (2-15, 2-9 NSIC) 2-1 in Conference action. The Wolves were able to get off to a hot start scoring their two goals in the first seven minutes of the game.
Melissa Gamble scored her tenth goal of the season off of a Suanne Lampert assist just 2:13 into the match. The Wolves would keep the pressure on and at the 6:48 mark Suanne Lampert would score her fourth goal of the season to put the Wolves up 2-0. The Golden Eagles were able to close the gap to one at the 52:00 minute mark off of a penalty kick, but the Wolves were able to hold on to win a crucial conference game on the road.
The Wolves will be in action next weekend as they play host to SW Minnesota State on Saturday, October 22 nd, 2005 and Wayne State (NE) on Sunday October 23 rd, 2005. The games are set for a 1:00 pm start at Jerde Field in Aberdeen, SD.
