Wolves Lose One Goal Game to End Season
Aberdeen, S.D. - The Univeristy of Mary (7-9-3) revenged their loss earlier in the season against the Northern State Wolves (11-8) by defeating the Wolves 1-0 in the first round of the NSIC conference tournament. With the loss the Wolves finish the season on a down losing their last three games.
The Wolves and the Marauders each had 11 shots on goal but the Marauders had the edge in shots on goal 7 to 4. The Wolves were led by Larissa Strychun as she had four shot with two of them being on goal. The Wolves were unable to get anything going offensively as the Maraudrs defense stifled the Wolves.
The lone goal of the game came in the 69th minute when Alyssa Deutscher blasted one past the Wolves goal keeper Theresa Alexander. The assist came from Becky Beall of off a corner kick. Theresa Alexander ends her season with a 6-7 mark with the loss.
The Marauders will move onto the semi-finals of the NSIC conference tournament which will be played this weekend in Winona, Minn. or St. Paul, Minn.
Northern State University (located in Aberdeen, SD) is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
