Wolves Put Two On All-Region Team
November 6, 2007
ABERDEEN, S.D. - Two Northern State soccer players have been named on the 2007 Daktronics NCAA II Women's Soccer All-Central Region Team. Senior defender Kira Wannebo and freshman forward Maggie Fedor both made the First Team, which is comprised of 11 players. As members of the First Team, both Wannebo and Fedor will be in the running for All-American status.
Kira Wannebo (D, 5-2, Sr., Weston, Fla.) is one of the leading players in an NSU defense that shut out 12 opponents and allowed only 15 goals this season, including just two through NSIC play and the conference tournament. A two-time All-NSIC First Team member, Wannebo was this year's Northern Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Year. She was named the NSIC Preseason Player of the Year and made the 2007 NSIC All-Tournament Team.

Maggie Fedor (F, 5-9, Fr., Monticello, Minn.) was the leading scorer for Northern State this season with 15 goals, which is just one shy of the NSU all-time single season goal record. This mark also led the Northern Sun Conference in 2007. Fedor scored two hat tricks on the season and, with the addition of four assists, had 34 points in her freshman campaign. She was named the NSIC Newcomer of the Year and made the cut for the All-NSIC First Team.
The Wolves finished the 2007 season ranked second in the Northern Sun Conference with a 7-1-1 record and went 15-4-3 overall. .
