Track & Field Athletes Claim 17 All-NSIC Spots,
Hamik Honored

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State men's and women's outdoor track & field athletes took 17 places on the 2007 All-Northern Sun Conference teams. All-NSIC teams are comprised of the top two finishers in each event and the top relay team. Honorable Mention awards go to the third place finishers and the second place relay teams. The men's track & field team took second in the NSIC this season while the women came in at sixth place.
NSU junior Jake Hamik (Aberdeen, SD) was named NSIC Track Athlete of the Year. Hamik took first place in three events at the NSIC Championships, setting a new NSIC record in the 400 meter hurdles, and anchored the 4x400 Relay team that took second place. He will compete in the 400 meter hurdles at the NCAA National Meet in Charlotte, N.C. May 24-26.
Hamik and senior Miranda Boepple (Dickinson, ND) have been named NCAA Academic All-Americans by the US Track & Field Coaches' Association.
