HERICKS NAMED NSIC TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

ABERDEEN, S.D.: Northern State senior April Hericks (Gettysburg, S.D.) was named as this week’s Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women’s outdoor track & field athlete of the week.

Hericks set two personal bests by placing third in the long jump (17’-00.75”) and sixth in the 100 meter hurdles (14.79) in the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls, S.D. this past weekend. She also ran a leg on the Wolves third place 4x100 meter relay team (49.75), which currently ranks second in the NSIC.

Hericks, a seven-time all-NSIC performer, is ranked in the top 10 in five different NSIC events. She was last week’s NSIC heptathlon runner-up (4,522-NCAA provisional mark) and is a team captain for the Wolves in 2003.
