LONGHENRY NAMED NSIC TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

ABERDEEN, S.D.: Northern State senior Eric Longhenry (Sr., Ortonville, Minn.) was named as this week’s Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference track & field athlete of the week.

Longhenry placed first in the collegiate division and third overall in the decathlon at Emporia State University’s Division II Challenge this past weekend. His point total (6,880) is a new Northern State record and is 246 points better than his current NSIC decathlon record (6,634). Longhenry, who is presently ranked No. 4 in NCAA II, also provisionally qualified for the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Longhenry is a 10-time all-NSIC performer and was selected as the 2001 NSIC men’s indoor track & field MVP.

Longhenry and the Wolves will travel to the Sioux City Relays in Sioux City, Iowa and to the Doane College Relays in Crete, Neb. this coming weekend.
