Northern State to Host North Central Regional Crossover Challenge

Aberdeen, S.D. –The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) went 12-9 against the North Central Conference (NCC) this weekend in the Super 8 NSIC/NCC North Central Regional Crossover. The Mavericks of Nebraska, Omaha went 3-0 in the crossover and also led the crossover in kills and blocks per game. They had a 17.30 kill per game average and a 3.20 block per game average. Other teams that went undefeated this weekend were Northern State, #5 Minnesota–Duluth, and MSU Moorhead. SW Minnesota State went 2-1 on the weekend and led the crossover in hitting percentage with a .285 percentage. Wayne State (NE), #4 Concordia St. Paul, and Minnesota, Crookston also finished 2-1 in the crossover.
Minnesota, Duluth’s Vicky Braegelmann lead the crossover with a .479 hitting percentage. SW Minnesota State’s Erin Contons had 6.20 kills per game average to lead the crossover and Kristen Miller followed closely behind with a 5.90 kills per game average.
With 16 teams and 24 games in two days the Super 8 NSIC/NCC North Central Regional Crossover is one of the largest NCAA Division II tournaments in the Nation.
