Minnesota-Duluth defeated Northern State 3-0 (15-5, 17-15, 15-7) Friday in Duluth.

After a dismal start, the Wolves came back to play evenly with the Bulldogs and nearly take the second game, but fell short to give UMD a 2-0 lead and all the momentum going into the third game. The Wolves were held to a mere .118 hitting percentage on the night, while Duluth went at a .327 clip.

Sophomore outside hitter Beth VanEmmerik (Gillette, Wyo.) led NSU with seven kills. Junior setter Tricia Schilling (Valley City, N.D.) had 23 assists.
