Southwest State defeated Northern State 3-0 (15-7, 15-5, 15-9) Wednesday night in Marshall, Minn.
The Wolves continued to struggle with sluggish starts, as the team mustered just a .077 hitting percentage in the first game. That number improved as the match went on, but it proved too little, too late.
Senior middle blocker Jean Kringstad (Aberdeen) led NSU with 11 kills at a .350 hitting percentage clip. With the win, Southwest improved to 10-8 and 4-0 in the conference.
NSU (4-12, 2-3) will hope to reverse its fortunes in the Barnett Center with a much-needed five-match homestand. So far, the Wolves have played only two of their 16 matches at home.
