WOLVES REMAIN UNDEFEATED AT HOME

Northern State continued its dominance within the friendly confines of Wachs Arena Saturday, defeating Winona State 15-2, 17-19, 16-14, 15-6. The win moved NSU's home record this season to 5-0.

The victory also gave NSU (7-12 overall, 5-3 NSIC) its longest winning streak of the season at three matches. NSU boasted a balanced attack, with four players registering 10 or more kills and two putting up double-doubles. Senior outside hitter Alana Kiehn (Carlton, Minn.) tallied team-highs in kills (13) and digs (18), while freshman outside hitter Stepanie Tschetter (Huron) had 10 kills to go with 17 digs. Junior setter Tricia Schilling (Valley City, N.D.) turned in another excellent performance with 43 assists and nine digs.

The Wolves won control of the match in the two hotly contested middle games. After With Winona surging after a huge 19-17 second-game win, the Wolves scrapped back in the third game to steal the momentum back with a 16-14 decision. The Warriors were not able to match the Wolves' ability to rebound in a quick fourth-and-deciding game.

NSU continues its homestand with matches in Wachs Arena against Southwest State Oct. 13 (7 p.m.) and against Wayne State Oct. 16 (4 p.m.).
