WAYNE
SNAPS NSU'S UNDEFEATED HOME MARK
Oct. 13,
2001

Milestone
delayed -- NSU coach Lisa Schriver
tries to inspire a comeback versus Wayne State, but the
Wildcats denied her career win No. 100 Saturday night
with a 3-1 win over NSU. |
Northern
State's perfect 7-0 home record met a road block Saturday
night, as conference front-runner Wayne State (Neb.) defeated
the Wolves 3-1 (30-25, 30-12, 21-30, 30-20).
The Wolves
(13-8 overall, 7-3 NSIC) rallied in the third game after finding
themselves in a 2-0 hole, but Wayne State (17-8, 9-1 NSIC)
ended any comeback thoughts by controlling the fourth game
to end the match.
NSU was
led by junior Kim Heny (Powell, Wyo.), who recorded 12 kills
and 20 digs. Junior middle blocker Christi Lucas (White, S.D.)
tallied 13 kills. Lindsey Koch led WSC with 18 kills and 19
digs.
Wayne's
win also denied NSU coach Lisa Schriver her 100th career victory.
Schriver and the Wolves will try to get back on the winning
track Oct. 19 at Minnesota-Crookston.
