MILLER, HUDDLESTON SIGN WITH NORTHERN STATE VOLLEYBALL

ABERDEEN, S.D.: High school volleyball standouts Chelsey Miller and Rachel Huddleston have committed to play volleyball at Northern State University beginning in the fall. The announcement was made on Thursday by head coach Lisa Schriver.

Chelsey Miller, a 5’8” outside hitter from Mitchell, S.D., was an all-conference selection, named second team all-state, named to the all-state tournament team and was a member of Mitchell High School’s state championship team in basketball.

“Chelsey is an outstanding defensive player,” commented Schriver. “She has great instincts and reads hitters on defense. She also has a great work ethic and understands what it takes to be a college athlete.”

Rachel Huddleston, a 6’0” middle hitter from Hot Springs, S.D., was a member of a Hot Springs High School team that earned state championships in 2000 and 2001 and was state runner-up in 2002.

“Rachel will grow into a strong college player,” said Schriver. “She has a lot of potential and will become stronger with our strength program. She is a good fit for our team.”

Miller and Huddleston will bring the NSU volleyball recruiting class to four as they join Aberdeen Central setter Kellie Heier and Lino Lakes, Minn. middle blocker Heather Pudwill.
